Social Development Specialist
Carsten Gloeckner is CDIA’s Social Development Specialist effective January 2018.
He holds an interdisciplinary M.SC. in Politics, Economics and Philosophy and a B.A. in Economics, primarily focusing on corporate social responsibility. He joined GIZ in 2013, thereby supporting the project on the Promotion of Social and Environmental Standards in Bangladesh with strong focus on implementing social standards in textile factories. Afterwards, he worked as a Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor and team leader of the Information and Knowledge Management component of the Land Management and Decentralized Planning project of GIZ in Laos. As part of a project exchange, Carsten also previously supported the GIZ project on the Promotion of Green Economic Development in the Philippines.
With his experience in implementing social standards and supporting capacity development in Asian countries for four years, Carsten will help to ensure that inclusive development aspects are integrated into urban infrastructure investments.
