Yogyakarta Urban Transport PFS Completed

Yogyakarta, Indonesia: In a collaborative effort a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) was recently completed for a sustainable urban public transport project for Yogyakarta and the surrounding metropolitan area. This collaboration involved close cooperation between Yogyakarta City the Provincial Government, the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) and its Consultants, the Sustainable Urban Transport Improvement Project (SUTIP), and a range of other government and community based stakeholders.
The PFS, was conducted from November 2010 through June 2011, and aims to bridge the gap between the Government’s existing transport plans and enhancing comprehensive investments in the urban public transport sector.
The Provincial and City Governments have expressed their commitment to implement the transport strategy and deliver the recommended infrastructure improvements.
