India: A Memorandum of Understanding for a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) on water supply was signed by the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

The MoU was signed by Senior Programme Manager of CDIA Balakrishnan Elangovan and Municipal Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu. GVMC had earlier signed a MoU with CDIA, an associate member of Asian Development Bank, for the latter’s support in preparing a revised City Development Plan. CDIA and Singapore would be collaborative partners in the development of the city planned modelled on Singapore, he added.
