Short Course for City and Municipal Officers
The CIFAL Kuala Lumpur/KLRTC Training Course 25 URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCING OPTIONS IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC REGION: Short Course for City and Municipal Officers, was held on 4-7 December 2012, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The course offers an introductory orientation aimed to raise awareness and help prepare cities in their efforts to identify alternate financing products for their infrastructure investment projects. The focus is on assisting local government officers to better understand opportunities available for financing. The content also looks to enhance understanding of internal institutional capacity needs, expectations on the part of the financiers, and modalities for financing agreements.
The Training was organised under the auspices of the Kuala Lumpur Regional Training Centre (KLRTC) or CIFAL Kuala Lumpur. KLRTC was launched in 2003 as a joint initiative between UNITAR, CITYNET, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, Veolia Environnement, and UNDP. The Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) will be the co-organiser for the 25th KLRTC short course.
