CDIA and CITYNET hold course on Urban Infrastructure Financing Options in the Asia Pacific Region

CDIA and CITYNET held a short course for 16 city and municipal officers and a Training of Trainers, in Seoul, Korea, 14-17 July and 14-19 July 2014, respectively.
The course aimed to orient participants and help them better understand and identify options in finance strategic infrastructure investments. They were given a combination of lectures and discussions, group work sessions, drills on applying assessment tools, city exchange, case study reviews, scenario analysis, and site visits.
After the course, participants were expected to know the range of possible external financing options, be aware of the institutional criteria, analyze projects for possible financing options, know external resources to support these efforts, and chart initial areas to pursue additional funding sources for their infrastructure investments.
CDIA specialists Sasank Vemuri and Joy Bailey, and Julie Ann Chua, ADB Municipal Finance Specialist, conducted the training course.
