September 10, 2014
The Kick-off Meeting for a Pre-feasibility Study (PFS) on the Integrated Flood Risk Management for the City of Valenzuela was held last 8 September in the Valenzuela City Hall.
This project-partnership with CDIA and USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific aims to help Valenzuela City address recurring flood risks through a holistic and coordinated approach involving both physical and non-physical measures in the flood-prone areas.
The meeting introduced CDIA and USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific, the funding agencies, to the Project Steering Committee (PSC), and the consultant team to the PSC and city stakeholders. The meeting also aimed to develop a common understanding of the project objectives, organization, and the project planning process. It also highlighted the project requirements from the teams, and established working relationships and lines of communication.
Led by Valenzuela City Mayor Rexlon Gatchalian and CDIA Philippine Country Manager and Urban Environmental Engineer Massimo Petrone, the meeting was attended by members of the city administration, representatives from USAID Adapt Asia-Pacific and the CDIA PFS Team members.
