September 24, 2014
CDIA was invited to participate in the Asia Pacific Forum for the Urban Infrastructure Network on Developing and Financing Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future, held in Melbourne, 1-2 September.
This Forum was organized by the Australian APEC Study Centre at RMIT University in collaboration with representatives from economies across the Asia Pacific as well as Australian, regional, and international organizations with funding from the Australian Government Aid Program’s Government Partnerships for Development (GPFD).
It aimed to bring together urban planning and infrastructure development experts from regional economies to develop a holistic policy framework for meeting the infrastructure development challenges arising from rapid urbanization in the Asia-Pacific.
In the sidelines of this event, GIZ/CDIA, represented by CDIA Deputy Program Coordinator Joris van Etten (seated 7th from left) was also invited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)/Australian Aid to come to Canberra and share Germany’s/GIZ development approach towards urbanization.
