Cities Spread and Share Good Ideas and Experiences at South-South City Leaders Forum
January 17, 2015
Hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the South-South City Leaders Forum, 2-3 December 2014, was held on the premise that solutions to the multiple and interconnected problems cities face must come from cities themselves. The Forum aimed to spread good ideas and experiences amongst cities, and to help build a strong network amongst city leaders, especially in developing Asia and the Pacific.
Organized by ADB’s South Asia Department (SARD), in partnership with the Regional and Sustainable Development Department (RSDD), East Asia Department (EARD), and CDIA, the inaugural event featured case studies/success stories in four thematic sessions on: Inclusive cities – expanding possibilities for people; Green and resilient cities- urban regeneration; Competitive cities – exploring new models for growth; and Urban financing – developing new city investment strategies.
