CDIA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Singapore Holds 6th Effective Urban Infrastructure Programming Course

The 6th Effective Urban Programming Course was held in Singapore, 28 January – 6 February at the Nanyang Technological University. Twenty-eight participants from 10 Asian cities learned about the development history of Singapore over the past 60 years through lectures and site visits. They were also given lectures and case studies on various options for financing urban infrastructure investments. Their mayors joined in on the last two days. Lectures were given by experts and representatives from the public and private sector. The course, which has been offered and running since 2010, had sessions on the following topics:

• Singapore Experience in Urban Management and Transformation, Public Sector Reform and Governance
• Urban transformation of Singapore
• Public housing related presentation
• City Infrastructure Investment Programming and Prioritization Toolkit (CIIPP)
• Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS) for Cities
• Marketing your Investment Projects to Potential Financiers
• Financing and Financial Modelling of Infrastructure Investment Projects
• Land Transport Policies – Singapore’s Experience
• Successful Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Models for Waste-to-Energy Incineration Infrastructure Development Projects
• Water and Environmental PPP projects
