CDIA 2015 Team Planning Meeting Focuses on Medium Term Review Next Steps And Team Communication

For 3 days, 21-23 April, 30 CDIA staff members from 9 countries brainstormed and strategized during the annual CDIA Planning Meeting and Retreat held in Laiya, Batangas, in the Philippines.

The event aimed to welcome the new CDIA team members by clarifying roles and responsibilities and developing guiding principles for the CDIA team culture; follow-up on the CDIA Midterm Review 2014; further develop concepts for linking to finance, capacity development strategy, cost recovery, and regional ownership; discuss how to optimize administrative procedures; and come up with a common base of information for exchanging news, sharing successes, and concerns.

Facilitated by Mr. Stefan Bauer-Wolf from the ÖAR Regionalberatung GmbH, the activity drew out and addressed pressing matters that would pave the way for a more efficient, service- and goal-oriented program, which is almost into its next phase until the end of 2017.

Staff members were given the chance to work in small groups with core topics that are outside their own areas of responsibility to have an integrated view of how CDIA works. Aside from intensive work sessions, there were also team building exercises allowing for building-up of a joint spirit and understanding within the team. To cap the meeting, a task list of strategic action points were presented for the way forward.
