CDIA Is Looking For A City-to-City Knowledge Sharing And Learning Expert For Guiyang, China Event

For its upcoming 2-day regional workshop on 22-23 September 2015 on Strengthening City-to-City Knowledge Sharing and Learning in Guiyang, China, CDIA requires a Resource Person with expertise on the experience exchange and learning process amongst cities in general and amongst Chinese cities in particular.
The Consultant will be involved in outlining and preparing the overall workshop program in the run-up to the event in cooperation with the CDIA capacity development team based in China and the Philippines. She/he is expected to moderate and facilitate the sessions of the actual event to ensure that the discourse and exchange between city participants are aligned with the workshop aims. The assignment of the Consultant closes with the preparation of a Final Report which combines the documentation and evaluation of the workshop as well as outlook recommendations on future city-to-city activities under the CDIA Centers of Learning approach.
Required expertise by the consultant is as follows:
– Expertise in hands-on concepts and methodology on city-to-city knowledge sharing and learning, as well as capacity development and human resource development concepts.
– Understanding of the theoretical and operational frameworks of urban networks in China as well as the cultural context.
– Experience in urban management through direct interaction with cities and stakeholders in China; experience in dealing with other Asian cities an advantage.
– Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.
