CDIA Parallel Session At The 3rd Urban Environmental Accords Summit, Iloilo
September 3, 2015
The 3rd Urban Environmental Accords (UEA) Summit will be held in Iloilo City, Philippines, 15-17 September 2015. On 16 September, CDIA will conduct a parallel session on “Alternative Financing Models for Infrastructure Investment,” which will provide an overview of CDIA and its portfolio especially in Philippines, focusing on financing options available for cities to implement their infrastructure projects.
The session will begin with introducing the approach adopted by CDIA of shortlisting projects from a wish list, prioritization, and linking to funds available. This will be further explored and supported by examples from Philippine cities like Dipolog and Valenzuela, plus Islamabad in Pakistan.
CDIA Senior Infrastructure Finance Specialist, Mr. Stuart King, will talk about alternative financing models available to cities, focusing on the role of public-private partnership and its potential in the urban infrastructure financing framework. The Philippine Public-Private Partnerships Center will also share its experiences and lessons learned. The session aims to provide an interactive platform for the participants interested in financing models.
