CDIA Joins ADB And DeLoG Seminar On Decentralized Governance
September 9, 2015
ADB and the Decentralization and Local Governance (DeLoG) – a network of 28 bilateral and multilateral development partners- conducted a 3-day regional learning seminar to enable a structured exchange of information and experiences, lessons learned and good practices in supporting decentralized governance. The seminar, entitled External Support for Decentralization Reforms and Local Governance Systems In the Asia-Pacific: Better Performance, Higher Impact?” was held in Manila, 25-27 August 2015 and hosted by ADB.
CDIA, represented by Eva Ringhof, presented private sector engagement entitled “Alternative Ways of Financing Urban Infrastructure,” and joined a panel discussion on Aid Modalities and Instruments for supporting DLG Reforms. The CDIA input was well perceived and aroused a keen interest on how CDIA supports Capacity Development in this regard, how CDIA deals with the municipal vs central government level, and in what way CDIA is able to shape a suitable environment for the private sector.
