CDIA In The 6th Asia Pacific Urban Forum, Jakarta, Indonesia, 19-21 October 2015
October 20, 2015
With the 6th Asia Pacific Urban Forum (APUF 6) happening in Jakarta, Indonesia this week, 19-21 October, CDIA is looking forward to exciting, inspiring and forward-looking discussions on ‘Sustainable Urban Development in Asia-Pacific’. The APUF 6 is a great opportunity to bring together key stakeholders from across Asia-Pacific and gather the region’s urban stories, experiences, and expertise for the New Urban Agenda.
As you know, cities play an essential role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. To ensure that cities remain engines of growth and prosperity, investing in urban infrastructure as well as sustainable and inclusive development is crucial. One of the key issues for achieving livable and prosperous cities in the Asian region is the challenge of bridging the financing gap. CDIA is delighted that the APUF 6 provides the opportunity to address this very important issue, as well as the Asian perspective on sustainable urban development. APUF 6 is expected to provide clear and hands-on recommendations from Asia to the High-level Regional Preparatory Meeting for Habitat III which will be a milestone in shaping the New Urban Agenda.
We are ready to contribute in creating solutions for current and future urban challenges in Asia and beyond. CDIA’s day-to-day work with cities, national and regional partners in Asia effectively supports closing the infrastructure financing and capacity gap of rapidly growing medium-sized cities in Asia.
CDIA invites cities and partners to share, discuss, and learn during the side events, panel discussions, and a training course on linking to finance. We look forward to seeing you at the APUF 6!
