The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal State of Berlin hosted the German Habitat Forum in Berlin on 1-2 June 2016 as an opportunity to debate sustainable solutions to urban challenges.

Interactive workshops of the forum offered the opportunity to enter into a dialogue with stakeholders across the world and deliver input for the third global United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Development, Habitat III, taking place in Quito.

Naga City planner Mr. Wilfredo Prilles has been invited to present Naga City in the workshop “Livable Cities for People.” Naga City is a partner city of CDIA and GIZ Nexus Programme. It has received numerous awards and distinctions for its innovations in local governance. Asiaweek, an international news magazine has singled out Naga as one of the most improved cities in Asia that ensure a livable and forward-looking environment, and strengthen other traditional indicators that make life easier for its citizens.

The panel discussion looked into the factors that contribute to social changes, employment and well-being of citizens.

Please see the Berlin Recommendations for the Cities of Tomorrow as one of the guidance papers for the New Urban Agenda.
