CDIA Highlights the Need for Inclusive Urban Infrastructure

CDIA, through its Social Development Specialist Eva Ringhof recently participated in the Regional Workshop on Urban Governance dubbed, “Access to Services for Social Equity” from 21-23 July 2016 in Surabaya, Indonesia. Organized by the East-West Center, the event served as an important platform for discussing urban governance challenges, examining urban governance capacities, and informing urban policy towards sustainable development and enhanced access to urban services.

Ms. Ringhof shared practical insights on CDIA’s inclusive urban infrastructure investments as innovative responses to service delivery in Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Click here to view her presentation.

Different approaches, tools and lessons-learned have been discussed with representatives of research and training institutions, local and national governments, civil society, and regional and international development partners in the said event.

Being a parallel event to Habitat III PrepCom 3, the workshop also aimed to contribute to the Habitat III preparatory process to ensure a transformative urban agenda for the region.
