Linking to Finance Training Course Successfully Held in Surabaya, Indonesia

A three-day training course dubbed, “Linking Cities’ Infrastructure Investment Projects to Finance” was successfully held from 27-29 July 2016 in Surabaya, Indonesia. CDIA organized it in partnership with PT Sarana Multi-Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT-SMi), an infrastructure financing agency of the Government of Indonesia that facilitates infrastructure financing and project preparation in the country. Representatives from 11 local government units (LGUs) in Indonesia actively participated in the said event.
The training course aimed to teach participants about financing modalities and infrastructure funding sources. They also provided the platform for LGUs to present their infrastructure projects, including those they wish to secure funding. Sessions included modules on: Introduction to Project Financing; Debt and Equity Financing; Grants, Transfers, Fees & Tariffs; and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). A series on best practices for PPPs in Indonesia and the Philippines were presented by PT-SMi and the representative from PPP Center of the Philippines.
Mr. Pradana Murti of PT-SMi and Mr. Stuart King of CDIA opened the training session; while Mr. Dodi Miharjana (CDIA) contributed as main facilitator together with Mr. Stuart King. Ms. Kristina Diza (CDIA/PPP Center of the Philippines), Mr. Pradana Murti (SMi) and Mr. Wismanto (SMi) served as resource speakers.
