Stakeholders and Advisory Panel Convene for the Development of CDIA Strategy and Business Plan
September 19, 2016
With the intent of seeking inputs and finalizing its Strategy and Business Plan for 2018-2022, CDIA recently organized a Stakeholder Forum-Expert Group and Advisory Panel Meeting on 7 September 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Participants of the meeting were composed of CDIA Advisory Panel members, various stakeholders from CDIA-partner cities, representatives from national ministries, CDIA national and regional partner organizations as well as other collaborative partners. CDIA-ADB Program Manager Joris van Etten presented the innovations of CDIA through the Strategy and Business Plan 2018-2022; after which, the group was divided into two breakout sessions to discuss their key inputs and recommendations to the document.
Among the highlights of the discussions included the need to strengthen local capacity, further explore and enhance linking to finance, better align CDIA with SDGs, create new ideas on project conceptualization, and intensify information sharing among the stakeholders.
The annual meeting became an opportunity for participants to have a fruitful exchange of ideas on how CDIA may shape up its approach and engage with cities and financiers in the coming years. The critical inputs, gained from the free and informal discussions are set to invigorate CDIA to better assist cities in meeting their urban planning and infrastructure goals.
