CDIA to Capture the Water Supply Project of Pimpri City through Video Documentation
October 13, 2016
Pimpri City in India is one of the Asian cities that has taken a proactive stance in sustainable development. In fact, the City Government is taking the necessary steps to ensure that water, a resource so scarce and yet immensely valuable to the life and culture of the Indian population, is provided.
CDIA, through its Program Coordinator Mrs. Claudia Hermes, Program Manager for India Balakrishnan Elangovan and Communications Specialist Analyn Rubenecia sought to capture the innovative steps through a video documentation conducted from 2-5 October 2016. The activity hoped to highlight the efforts of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in moving forward with the 24×7 water supply project, four years since CDIA assisted the City in its pre-feasibility studies.
“We are proud to see the fruition of many of the PFS recommendations,” said Mrs. Hermes. “The local government committed to provide the current, as well as the future needs of the people. We are happy to be witnesses,” she added.
In an interview with PCMC Commissioner Mr. Dinesh Waghmare, readily-available water supply has translated to, among others, “reduction of costs allocated by people for water, improved health, reduced grievances, and increased satisfaction by the people.”
The video is expected to be released in November 2016.
