UCLG-ASPAC and CDIA launch New Monograph on Financing Sustainable Urban Development
November 2, 2016
In one of CDIA’s networking events at the Habitat III Conference in Quito, Ecuador, CDIA and its partner organization, United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC) launched a new monograph entitled, “Asian Innovations in Financing Sustainable Urban Development.”
The publication is an initial attempt to document, and share with Asian cities the best practices that local governments in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, and the Philippines have taken to improve their habitat and address challenges such as environmental protection, infrastructure rehabilitation, flood risks, and city’s resilience to climate change, among others.
It further demonstrates that there is much potential at the local level if only they are provided with capacity development and empowered to determine their resource mobilization and development strategies.
