CDIA’s New Intern for Capacity Development

Mr. Edgar Vasanthakumar recently joined CDIA as Capacity Development Intern. He is on his final year in Master in Environmental Resource Management at Brandenburg University of Technology, Germany. Prior to this, he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy at Centre for Environmental Law, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) India. Furthermore, he was part of ‘Creative Lab on Rapid Planning by UN-Habitat and Rapid Planning Project under the framework of future megacities research program by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and research (BMBF) in Kigali, Rwanda. As such, he was involved in developing ideas on trans-sectoral planning in the context of informal settlement upgrading; and proposing interventions to convert the local waste problem into an economic solution. Moreover, he completed Pioneers into Practice Professionals Programme by Climate-KIC with special focus on waste management and stakeholder mapping. His focal points of interests are in urban waste management and sanitation issues; and he will provide assistance in capacity development activities such as seminars and workshops on good practices in cities.
