CDIA welcomed to the team, Mr. Lun Heng as a Young Asian Professional (YAP) last 7 May 2017. He works at the Sewerage Management & Construction Department of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) in Cambodia, wherein his tasks constitute the review of national policy frameworks on wastewater management, among others.

Mr. Lun Heng will be assigned to CDIA for a period of five months to undergo in-house training on urban project management in Manila, as well as on-the-job activities in Cambodian cities. He will primarily support CDIA’s ongoing and upcoming capacity development activities relative to the Second Integrated Urban Management Project around the Tonle Sap water basin in Cambodia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia. His professional interests include international cooperation, as well as training measures and conferences; and is keen to learn more about wastewater management in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries.

The YAP program was established in 2010 to help enhance the capacity of Asia’s young urban practitioners in CDIA’s partner organizations. It offers unique opportunities to work as part of CDIA, enabling professionals to develop their capacities to take an increasingly greater role in the direction-setting and operation of CDIA’s work that impacts cities in Asia. To date, Mr. Lun Heng is the 12th professional under CDIA’s YAP program.
