The Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department (SDCC) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently presented CDIA with Team Partner Award for its work in getting the approval of the CDIA Trust Fund.

“This is a wonderful recognition of our efforts in working with key departments within the ADB to establish the CDIA Trust Fund,” said Joris van Etten, CDIA’s Unit Head. “Through this Fund, we intend to build on the 10-year experience of CDIA to support the development of key infrastructure investments in cities in Asia and the Pacific,” he added.

On the occasion of its 10th Anniversary last 23 November 2017, CDIA launched the Trust Fund which aims to improve the sustainability prospects of the initiative. Under this new governance set up, CDIA’s mission to assist cities in infrastructure project development and financing remains the same, including its ‘demand-driven’ approach of encouraging cities to apply for support. The approval process however, has been standardized under ADB as the Trust Fund’s host. This new set up will ensure the continuity of CDIA’s work with cities in the years to come.
