Kochi Water Metro Project Featured in the World Cities Report 2024

The CDIA-supported Kochi Water Metro Project is featured in UN-Habitat’s flagship publication, World Cities Report 2024, as part of its Case Study Annex. The report was launched at the 12th World Urban Forum on 5 November 2024 in Cairo, Egypt.
This recognition followed a lengthy selection process due to numerous remarkable submissions globally.
The Kochi Water Metro project, now a state-of-the-art and eco-friendly water transport system, can trace its origins to the transport sector strategy and feasibility study supported by CDIA in 2010. Its implementation was made possible through funding support from KfW (German development bank) and the Kerala State Government.
