ADB-CDIA Hosts Pipeline Exchange Among Project Preparation Facilities
October 30, 2025

On 28 October 2025, ADB-CDIA, in partnership with the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA), organized a pipeline exchange among project preparation facilities (PPFs) supporting urban development across Asia and the Pacific. The session aimed to enhance coordination, identify synergies, and accelerate matchmaking among them.
The 60-minute roundtable discussion brought together 11 PPFs and advisory programs to share updates, present priority projects, and align efforts. Participants included representatives from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme–ASUS Project, City Climate Finance Gap Fund, C40 Cities Finance Facility, CDP, Cities Alliance, GIZ–Urban Act, NUCA Programme, GCIB/LDN (Project Gaia), and ICLEI–Local Governments for Sustainability.
ADB-CDIA presented its regional footprint—having worked with 136 cities in 22 developing member countries, leveraging $13.4 billion in downstream investments. It also presented its current portfolio, along with projects under the ADB-Water and Urban Development Sector Office, pipelined for implementation in 2026. Looking ahead, CDIA is committed to playing a more proactive role in linking ADB project officers with fellow PPFs to foster partnerships.
The exchange featured two rounds of discussion: the first focused on sharing work updates, priorities, and key projects, while the second explored reflections and initial plans—including preparations for the 13th World Urban Forum on 18–22 May 2026 in Azerbaijan.
The participants recognized the need to conduct quarterly online exchanges and occasional in-person meetings to deepen collaboration among PPFs in the delivery of investment-ready infrastructure projects across Asia and the Pacific.
